Indian apps with video sharing platforms are becoming increasingly popular after Chinese apps are banned. The Roposo app is also being rapidly downloaded within 24 hours of Tiktok being banned.
Roposo, a social media platform created in the country, is becoming quite popular after the ban on Chinese app TikTok. The Indian government on Tuesday night banned 59 Chinese apps, including TicketLock. Roposo had been downloaded more than 48 million times since Tiktok was banned until Wednesday afternoon. The developers of the app have expressed hope that they are expected to get 1 crore new users in a day. According to Google Play Store, this Indian app has been downloaded more than 50 million times so far.
After the development of Chinese Tiktok, Likee, Bigo Live, Vigo Video and Helo Ban, there has been a rapid increase in downloads of developed apps in the country. In addition to Roposo, downloads of Spark apps have also increased rapidly.
Ad tech unicorn InMobi founder and CEO Naveen Tiwari spoke out. He further explained that the video sharing app Roposo has gained more than 10 times in the last few weeks. This is because of the uninstallation of Chinese apps by Indians . Indians have rapidly uninstalled many apps, including TicketLock, Shareight, CamScanner, UC News, WeChat, Hello.
He said, ‘Being an entrepreneur in India, it is time to be digitally independent. This is historical because digital companies have no boundaries and it is very important that India has control of its data and takes care of its security if we look at the digitally private population of India. The decision by the PM to ban apps is a matter of great pride.
